According to Carolyn, the poor people in Philippians are so poor that
they cannot afford to buy groceries in larger packet. So, all their
groceries are in mini packet.

How to pray for Philippines:
The church faces critical challenges:
- how to give a biblical response to the gross inequalities and corruption
in society
- Rapid growth with inadequate discipling. The proliferating of new
groups, often led by those with minial training and almost no
accountability, has given rise to doctrinal, fanciful interpretations and
problems such as corruption
- Praise God for outstanding Filipinpo leaders, but their numbers are too few.
Pray for the theological and bible colleges
- The lack of spiritual unity across denominational lines.
- Pray for a humbe sensitivity on the part of Western missionaries as
Filipino Christians are seekign an identity on their own.
- Pray also for safety. Missionaries have been threathened, kidnapped
and even killed by guerrillas and criminal gangs.

People who have not heard the gospel:
- Muslims: 5 millions in 14 ethnic group
- Mindanao: The 18 Manabo tribal peoples are isolated and outreach to
them is limited by warfare and intimidation
- Settled central mountain people in Luzon
- In Manila 3 million people live in squalid shanty-town slums, some
living on and from the city rubbish dumps. There are 900 depressed
areas in the city, 400 of which have no church. Most of the churches
are in the more influent areas.

Dinner with Min Jie

Date: 26th April 2008
Venue: Hong Man Tian Chinese Restaurant

Min Jie, our dear friend, came to visit us from Swansea and stayed
with us over the weekend. We still remember that we met him at Rumah
Methodist Nilai about 5 years ago. He's a kind person although sometimes
he shows his solemn face. Nelson is very grateful as he remembers
when Min Jie always gave him a ride for dinner at Cempaka.
We praise God for him.

I like the design of the menu.............

I like the wall deco....

Yu Xiang Kai Lan (Out of our expectation. Don't know
what's going on...)

"Water boiled" beef (Average)

Lemon chicken. (aweful...blehhh!)

Garlic vege. (tasted just like vege...=_=!)

Personally, we don't think the food was great...... we decided to
"ban" this restaurant. Perhaps we did not order the right Sze Chuan
cuisine...

about Moses on how God has used him to bring the God's people

Children book entitled "My Beautiful Mommy"

Date: 25th April 2008

I read an article in the newspaper, and it's about a book for children
entitled "My beautiful mommy". Why i mention about this book
in my blog? Well, i think this is a very weird book for children.......
and i think something had gone wrong........ Let's see what is the book
about..........

Summary:
A must have for any mother with young children considering
plastic surgery. Join a young girl as her mommy goes through
her plastic surgery experience, and learn how the entire
family pitches in to help mommy achieve her beautiful
results.

Informations for parents:
As any parents will tell you - children are very perceptive.
It's nearly impossible to hide a plastic surgery transformation
from your children .........throughout the process, young children
can become confused ...........This book is designated to explain
to your children what to expect - from the initial consultation
to the final result. It is recommended that you read this
with your children at least 3 times during the plastic
surgery process. Encourage children to ask question as you
read.............................
For more info about this book, please visit:
http://www.mybeautifulmommy.com/

I really don't know what to say after i read about the summary and
the information for parents from the internet. First of all, i think it's
unneccessary for mom to undergo plastic surgery just to make
themselves look beautiful. Secondly, i think through this story,
more children will have wrong perception about "beauty".

How do you define beatiful mommy?
Does she need to have slim body? Does she need to have thin face?

The Bible said in Proverbs 31: 10- 31
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he
shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants? ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her
household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her
hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth
her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle
goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold
the distaff.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth
forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her
household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing
is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among
the elders of the land.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles
unto the merchant.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice
in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is
the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not
the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also,
and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest
them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that
feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit
of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

First day work in Vivian Road Pre School

Date: 22nd April 2008
Venue: Vivian Road Pre-School

I thank God for my first job in UK which is as an After School Kids
Club Assistant. I only need to work 3 hours a day which is from
3-6pm. The main role is just to supervise the children and sometimes
we need to organize some activities for them.

On Monday (21/4/08), the principal approached me to see whether
i'm interested to become assistant in nursery....... Wow..... This is what
i have been praying and looking for.... previously i had searched for similar
job in the job centre but most required certain qualification such as NVQ,
which i do not have...... Now, the principal actually offered me this job
even though i have no such qualification. Praise the Lord.

So, started from 22/4/08, I will have to work from 8.30am - 12pm in the
Pre School and 3-6pm in the after school club... Although it's quite tiring
after the day... but i enjoyed it.......
