Last Sunday in Selly Oak Elim

It was our last Sunday at Selly Oak Elim Church. We have been in that
church for about 2 years and we were warmly welcomed by pastors and
members of the church.

I served as assistant in the J Team (children ministry) and we did serve
as helper for coffee and tea with Khang. Special thanks to Pastor Trevor
& Chris for their effort and time in conducting the marriage course.
We enjoyeddoing that course with the other couple, Tim & Clare.
We did participate in the International prayer week organised by Chris and
International Extravaganza. We represented Malaysia. I also learnt a lot
from Nikki and J Team's workers while helping in the J Team and
holiday club. This is really a great church with lots of Internationals.

Farewell dinner with Atkin's colleague

I don't know what to say, we have been to Chung Ying Garden
Chinese Restaurant for the third time over the weekend. haha....
1) with Bobby, Bob & Esther on Saturday (18/7/09)
2) with Ming Kim & Donald on Sunday afternoon (19/7/09)
3) with Nelson's colleague on Monday night (20/7/09)

It was great to meet with Nelson's Chinese colleagues.
Some are from Malaysia, some are from Hong Kong while some
of them are from China.

Goodbye, Min Jie

Special thanks to Min Jie for travelling all the way from London
to bid us farewell. We were sorry for him as we were super busy
on that weekend with lots of appointments and we did not really
have time to chat with him. However, we were glad that we
managed to meet up with him just before we go back to Malaysia.
Hope that we will meet each other again in Malaysia.

Blessings from BCEC

This was our last Sunday attending Sunday service in BCEC.
We were touched to have Rev Frank Cheung prayed for us.
We will miss all the brothers & sisters in BCEC, specially
those children who we have been together with for the
past 2 years........

Em... why everyone laughed? The night before, we joked about
purposely going away from home if the brothers & sisters
from BCEC were to visit us at Alex & Wendy's house.
We told them that they need to inform us earlier
so that we can book our flight ticket to be away.


Mana tau...... Rev Frank Cheung was like could read our
mind..... He encouraged us to welcome the brothers and
sisters if they were to visit us in Malaysia and don't
purposely pretend to be away....... hahahaha!!!!! Opppsss!!!!

Farewell party at Alex & Wendy's house

Venue: Alex & Wendy's house

Wendy called us one day to invite us to her house for farewell dinner.We tried to arrange on week day, but she kept on saying it was not convenient for her. So, we finally got it arranged on Saturday.

Now, here come another problem, our dear friend Min Jie will come all the way from London to bid us farewell. He will reach Birmingham at about 10pm and need us to fetch him from thecoach station..... wow....So, we quickly rang Wendy to ask herwhether can we leave earlier after the dinner. However, shewas quick reluctant to let us go off earlier. So, we are stucked!!!

At this time, our dear friend from Scotland, Ngiik Yan offeredto help us to fetch Min Jie from coach station. We really feltsorry for her as she never met Min Jie before and it was onlyher first day of visit in Birmingham. We were so grateful!!!! Ngiik Yan, you are super!!!!!

Ok, back to the farewell dinner....... in the afternoon while wewere having lunch in Chung Ying Garden Chinese Restaurantwith Bobby, Bob, Esther & Yan, i met Dr.Yuan in her clinic whichis located beside the restaurant. I talked to her for a while, and before i left her clinic , she said," See you tonight!". I paused andshe suddenly realized something and said, " Oppsss! I should notsay like that!!!"....... it aroused my curiousity!!!! What happened?

Alex (Wendy's husband) came to pick us up from home. When we almost reached his house, we saw Xilin, Li Jun & Junyang walkedtowards his house with some food on hands. Ah!!!! now only we knowthat they had secretly arranged a farewell party for us........No wonderWendy did not allow us to leave earlier and Dr.Yuan said "see you tonight"!!!haha...... There were about 30 brothers & sisters in their house..... Wehad lovely time having delicious food prepared by every brothers & sisters, enjoying videos and slideshows prepared by EJ and of courseprayer blessings from brothers & sisters.

I have taken a lot of photos with brothers & sisters but i lost all of themwhile i was transferring the photos..... Silly me!!!! So, please visit Alex'sfacebook to view the photos and videos taken on that night

By the time we reached, it was almost 11pm and we were glad tosee Min Jie and Ngiik Yan safely reached home in one piece.We were quite amazed how efficient Ngiik Yan was. She couldfetch a stranger all the way from Digberth Coach Station and broughthim back safely with bus......what we could say is "pui fok"......Really thanks Yan for her help....... she is truly our "angel"......

My farewell lunch at Jill's house

I am grateful and touced as the wives organized a farewell lunch for
me. Each of everyone of them brought a dish to be shared. As i did
not have time to cook, i could only get some fruits from Aldi.

Just for your information, if you are looking for fresh and cheaper
vegetables and fruits in Birmingham, Aldi is the best choice.

After the lunch, the wives had farewell party for me. Jill baked a cake
and it was so delicious. I think i will miss Jill's homemade biscuit and
cake when i am back to Malaysia.



Just before the wives left, i managed to grab each and everyone of them
for photo taking.

I think i will truly miss the wives fellowship as it is a place

where you can come and pray with, pray for and ask for prayer support.

So many international wives are here to welcome you and be your friend

when you feel so lonely at the foreign place. You will get to learn more

about their culture and also have a chance to taste their local food.

Besides, it is a good place to share your stories and problems and there are

always godly people who are ever ready to listen and encourage you.

You will get to know more about God through bible study on every Friday.

Last but not least, Jill's homemade biscuits and cakes are the best.....

thanks to all the wives who help to prepare all the biscuits on every

Wednesday.

Farewell for Shi Tian

It was great to meet up with Shi Tian before she departed
from Birmingham to be back to Malaysia. She will get married
in September and will be moving to Australia with husband
after they got married. We will miss you, Shi Tian!!!
