Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary

wow... it's already 2 years we got married... time really flies...
I remembered once we talked about years of marriage with my
UK's colleagues.... One of them said she has got married for about
32 years, the other one said she has got married for about 35 years...
when they asked me.... they laughed at me as i said it will only
be my second year in September 2009..... they said....
"dear Joyce, it is still long way to go.....haha"......

Thank God for His guidance and protection that we can be together
for 2 years....

Alex & Wendy's 10th wedding anniversary

Date: 7th March 2009

Venue: Elim Church Centre

It's Alex & Wendy's 10th Wedding Anniversary. We were blessed

to be invited to their wedding anniversary's party. We were also

honoured to be their helper in the party. We were touched by the

way both of them care for a lot of Taiwanese & single people in

our church. They really put their 100% in welcoming people

into their house, cook them nice food and pray for those who

need prayer support.

p/s: We were too busy on that day until we have forgotten to
take photo with Alex & Wendy......... oh no!!!!!

Our 1st Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 1st Wedding Anniversary. Thank you God for His guidance
throughout this year. We learnt how to love and care for each other
more and more with God's love each day.

We had lunch at our favourite western food restaurant to celebrate
our 1st Wedding Anniversary which will fall on the 29th of September.
The food were very nice but the Swordfish steak was a bit salty.

Mike & Kath 50th Wedding Anniversary

Date: 5th April 2008
Venue: Aston Court

Mike & Kath was having their 50th Wedding Anniversary and our
choirteam was invited to present a few songs. Mike & Kath got
married on 1958 (wow... i haven't borned yet......) and they have
2 sons and a daughter.They are a lovely couple...... especially the wife....
always a broad smile on her face....

Mike greeted Nelson & I at the entrance with a hug. Then, Nelson
introduced me to Mike. Nelson told him that we just got married
for 6 months.... and Mike said," ooooh..... you still have 49 and 1/2
years to go...... hahahahahhahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
49 and 1/2 years........ wow......hahahaha!!!!

The ceremony started off with welcoming speech by their eldest
son, then followed by a hymn (blessed be the ties that bind)
Then, their grandson (Sam) read us a bible verse (2 John 4-6)
while Paul & WuXi read us Philipians 2:1-12.
After the bible reading, their daughter in law (Denise) and their
grandaughter (Beth) sang a lovely song named "At the cross".
Then, Mike & Kath took their vows. It was followed by the choir
song presentation. We sang 3 songs
i) Amazing Grace
ii) How Great Thou Art
iii) In His Time
Kath shed tears when we sang "Amazing Grace". I think she truly
experienced God's amazing grace in her marriage life.

After the song presetation, their youngest son, Mark gave a
short talk and thank their parents for their love. The ceremony
then ended with a closing prayer by their grandaughter.

After every ceremony, there's always food to eat.... hahaha!!!!!
We were blessed to have a lot of western and chinese cuisine.
haha..... I think this is Nelson's favourite time.........hahahah!!!!!giu

I thank God for this wonderful couple. Although i do not know them
very much, but God has used them to bless a lot of people, especially
the Chinese. They have adpoted a Chinese girl and they love Chinese.
May God continue to bless them and their families.

The length of our days is seventy years- or eighty, if we have
the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they
quickly pass, and we fly away................................
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart

Happy 51th Anniversary to MYF & 56th Anniversary to MIF - 2008

Today AIM MYIF celebrates 51th anniversary for MYF & 56th
anniversary for MIF. Too bad that i can't be there physically to share
the joy. However, i do have a few words for the committee & members
of MYIF.

Brothers & sisters, remember!!! You are son of the lights.....

You are all sons of the lights and sons of the day.
We are not belong to the night or to the darkness.
So, then let us not be like others, who are asleep,
but let us be alert and self controlled.
(1 Thessalonians 5: 5-6)




and also the light of the world ....................

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they
put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the
same way, let yout light shine before men, that they may see your good
deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5 :14)




You might be spiritually weak in the past !!!
But..... don't give up!!! As our Lord had promised that:

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:29-31)





What you have to do is to forget what is behind
and strain toward what is ahead.

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.
But one thing i do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward
what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prizre for which
God has called me headvenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)




and put on the armor of God everyday....................

Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the
devil's scheme. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against
the rulers, against the authorities, against the power of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put
onthe full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may
be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything,
to stand. (Ephesians 6: 11-13)



Remember, your goal is to live for Jesus !!!!!!!
