My farewell lunch at Jill's house

Date: 17th July 2009
Venue: Jill's house

I am grateful and touced as the wives organized a farewell lunch for
me. Each of everyone of them brought a dish to be shared. As i did
not have time to cook, i could only get some fruits from Aldi.

Just for your information, if you are looking for fresh and cheaper
vegetables and fruits in Birmingham, Aldi is the best choice.

I think i will truly miss the wives fellowship as it is a place
where you can come and pray with, pray for and ask for prayer support.
So many international wives are here to welcome you and be your friend
when you feel so lonely at the foreign place. You will get to learn more
about their culture and also have a chance to taste their local food.
Besides, it is a good place to share your stories and problems and there are
always godly people who are ever ready to listen and encourage you.
You will get to know more about God through bible study on every Friday.
Last but not least, Jill's homemade biscuits and cakes are the best.....
thanks to all the wives who help to prepare all the biscuits on every
Wednesday.
So, if you:
1) are International wife
2) are staying in Birmingham
2) need a place for fellowship
do feel free to contact Jill at
home landline: 01214721766.
Trust me, you will regret if you are International wife who stays in
Birmingham, but you never been to Jill's house. Ask those who has
been to Jill's house and they will surely tell you how they had been
greatly blessed.
I had been blessed as Edith brought me to this fellowship. So, now
i would also want to bless you by inviting you to Jill's house for the
wonderful fellowship.

Dinner at Yoko's house

Date: 7th July 2009
Venue: Yoko's house

It was great to be invited to Yoko's house for dinner. We had a lovely
time at her house, enjoying Japanese food and chit chatting with
her husband, Ito. Ito is a very friendly person and he taught us
some Japanese words.

Yoko is from Japan and she is just staying at a house very near
to my work place. I met her at Jill's house and she invited me
to her house on the following week to have a cup of tea during
my lunch hour. Since then, i visit her every Tuesday during
my lunch house and we become close friend. haha...
it's amazing.... I do not ever think of having a Japanese
close friend..... Thank God for this wonderful friend
who i met in Birmingham.

A morning at Jean's house

Date: 7th July 2009
Venue: Jean's house

Today i do not have to work as the children from the pre-school
that i work are going to Monkey Forest. As they do not need
any staff to look after the children and if i want to join the trip,
i have to pay for the entrance fees.... So, i decided not to go....

As usual, i will not let myself doing nothing for the day, so
i have planned a gathering with few wives. It's great to visit
Jean as i have not visited her before since i know her through
Jill. It's also a great opportunity to get Arezoo along and
to get to know her more. She's a very nice and humble lady.

From left: Yoko (Japan), Joyce, Jean (Korea) and Arezoo (Iran)

Special thanks to Jean also for her kindness in preparing us some
healthy lunch (Salad & soup). I stayed at her house for the whole
morning and it was too bad that i have to go back to work in the
afternoon. I felt a bit tired when i was at work after having great time
chit chatting at Jean's house. I felt tired also because i ate too much
during lunch.... hehe.....

Meet with Mary Ma

Date: 27th May 2009
Venue: Jill's house

Although i do not know Mary Ma, i still go to Jill's house to meet
up with her. Heard about her story from Jill and really want to
meet her. I was truly encouraged by her testimony. I believe
that God is with her while she was at the deepest valley
of her life. Her sharing reminded me of something which
is important in my life.

"You will know how real is our God when you are facing
difficulties in yout life. You may leave God when you
are successful or you have everything you want. But once
you are facing problems, now you see God........"

May God bless you abundantly in your career & family.....

Thanks Jill

Jill will be moving to a new apartment soon after staying for about
36 years in the house in Bournbrook Road. She's giving away
FOR FREE some of her furnitures and utensils....... I have got
2 book racks from her. I'm very grateful for her kindness.
She told us that she got most of her things in the house from
other people. Other people gave generously to her, now she
also wants to give generously to other who really need the
thing.

She's really a women who has Jesus's heart. Although she is old
and is not physically fit, she still think of visiting & praying for
those who in need. She can't drive as she's under medication,
she will walk or take bus to visit people at home............
What i could say is..........Thanks Jill............you are super!!!!

Farewell for Jill

Date: 18th July 2008
Venue: Jill's house

After 14 years of welcoming international wives to her house
for fellowship and bible study, Jill has decided to call it a day......

I shed tears during the farewell. I sure will miss this fellowship
so much. I still remember Edith brought me to this fellowship
when i visited UK at 2006.

Through this fellowship, i know Jill, who is a very caring old lady.
She always pray for us. I still remember Jill volunteered to help
me in settling my registration with General Practice (GP) and she
prayed for me when i could not be enrolled to Bounville College
for ChildCare NVQ course. She's very patience and willing to help us
to improve our English. I will miss her a lot.......
