Global Day of Prayer

Date: 11th May 2008

Today is the Global Day of Prayer where churches and towns are
focusing praying into heart of the nation.

The church:
May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that
you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (John 17:23)
Please continue to pray for our own church, the changes which are happening
to our ministry team, for our students as they complete their studies and move
on, for the development for the Link area (we now have planning permission)
for those who are unwell.

The people, Families, Neighbourhoods
The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made. (Psalm 145:9)
Remember all your neighbours and those in your own families who do not
know God.

Hope
In our desperate world we need to share the hope of the Gospel.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him
so that you may overflows with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 15:13)

Council, Police, Sevices
Pray for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and
quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (1 Timothy 2:2). Pray for those
in our church who work in such area.

Education
The Lord gives wisdom and from His mouth comes knowledge and
understanding (Proverbs 2:6)
Please pray for all those in our own fellowship who are involved with
education whether it be very young children or those at secondary
school.

Righteousness, Integrity and Honesty
Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a disgrace to any people.
(Proverbs 14:34)
In our church today honesty and integrity are often lacking. May we as
Christians ensure that those we work with see this in our lives.

Drugs / People Traffic / Gun / Knife Crime / Sex Industry
But men loved darkness instead of light (John 3:19)
Jesus said "I am the light of the world, whoever follow me will never walk
in darkness but have the light of life (John 8:12)
Everyday we hear of atrocities relating to the above area. Please pray for
protection for our young people and vulnerable older friends.

Healing
For I am the Lord who heals you. (Exodus 15:26)
Please remember all those who work in the NHS. They are important
part of healing today but without divine healing power they would
be ineffectual.

Asylum Seekers, Refugees, Outcasts
You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor appress him (Exodus 22:21)

The Addicted, Poor, Homeless, Lonely
Whoever is kind to the needy honours God (Proverbds 14:31)
